Children Cancer Free Foundation
Look, this is something we like to ask your attention for. Coming Sunday 2 October for the first time the Run for KiKa takes place in Amsterdam. Kika: children cancer free Foundation’s goal is 95% healing opportunity for children with cancer. With the running event participants try to get sponsor money as much as possible. The money will be used for scientific research and better treatment methods for children with cancer.
They already run
The event took in recent months’ place in Almere, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and on 18 September in Nijmegen. Now it’s up to Amsterdam to try to increase the total amount of sponsor money. On the site of Run for Kika you can actually see what the current amount is, both of Amsterdam as the other cities.
Amsterdamse Bos
The event takes place in the Amsterdamse Bos. There are 3 distances, in addition to the 10 and 5 km there is the KidsRun. This is a distance of 1 km for children up to 12 years old. Besides the Run, there is also a programme with game activities in the special KiKafunpark and there are performances on a stage. In short, in addition to supporting a charity it’s also a fun day out

Registration: until Friday 30 September 09.00 hour online. Later it is only possible to register on the event itself.
Advice: Come by bike or public transport because of it will be hard to find a parking place.

About KiKA
“KiKa (Children cancer free Foundation) was founded in 2002 by Frits Hirschstein and Maarten Stoopendaal. The occasion was the request of two well-known cancer specialists to see if there could come more money available for research into childhood cancer. The two oncologists felt that there was much more possible in the field of child cancer.
