Club Lite: an oasis
I have always been fond on dancing and have done a lot of it in Amsterdam. Odeon, the Brasil Music Bar at the Leidseplein, the Roxy and more clubs. Super fun. Until 13 years ago, a friend of mine took me to a Nataraj-dance party by DJ Shanto. At the time, the events in Club 8 were on the Admiraal de Ruijterweg. A new world opened itself up to me: people dancing barefoot and it is so easy to make contact. Every evening started with an Osho dance meditation and so I hovered into the evening.
Dancing throughout the city
Over the years I followed Shanto’s Nataraj throughout the city; from West to Zeeburg, to East in the Mirrorcentre. That’s where I was sitting at the cash register for a while! I knew Shanto’s dream was to own a club. And a several years ago there it was: Club Lite at the Jan van Galenweg was a fact! The beginning of a successful conscious club. For young and old, age is not an issue!
Going out consciously
It’s a club that is different than others: you can even go on a Sunday morning to dance! There is also a monthly party from the Chocolate Club, the raw food movement, Shine by DJ Kareem and much more. During the Ecstatic dance evenings no-one even talks or drinks alcohol. On some evenings, you can have a healthy meal together in advance and you can enjoy a massage or enjoy various acts. And what I like about it so much, is that it’s very female friendly. The atmosphere is open and there are no obligations. You don’t have to dance barefoot, you can also keep your shoes on.
My party at Club Lite
This is also the reason why I launched bodyandmind.amsterdam at Club Lite. This video will give you an impression of the atmosphere!
