Fan of Landmarkt

For a while now there is a branch around the corner of my house, which is called Landmarkt. In the Pijp, where I live, healthy supermarkets are mushrooming and this is one of them. What they tell us on their website is:”Landmarkt is an indoor marketplace with the tastiest fresh groceries. Our craftsmen buy this from more than 100 small artisan growers, farmers and producers. Many of the products we sell in the store, or use in our restaurant. On our market, in the outskirts of Amsterdam, you can go for more than just your grocery shopping; Strolling along the various departments, do tastings, participate in a workshop or go out for some fine dining in our restaurant. We are fan of tasty fresh food!”

Apples from farmer Jan

I like this shop, because you indeed have plenty of fresh things such as fish, vegetables and cheese. It’s not all organic (but it isn’t at a supermarket as Marqt either) and the range is not very big and yet I am a fan. I really like the idea of knowing what I eat. For example: I eat apples from farmer Jan and cheese from farmer Kees. My product has a story and an origin. I can imagine how Jan and his family picked the apples and brought their harvest to Landmarkt. Its almost a romantic idea.
Eitherway the atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is helpful and sympathetic, it’s not too crowded and if you are looking for a larger assortment, you can also go to the store in Amsterdam North. I hope the branch in the Van Woustraat will exist for a long time.
Are you looking for a healthy supermarket, check out www.landmarkt.nl, but make sure you go to the store and experience it yourself!
